The Integrated Supply Chain of After-sales Services Model: A Multi-objective Scatter Search Optimization Approach
Authors
Abstract:
Abstract: In recent decades, high profits of extended warranty have caused that third-party firms consider it as a lucrative after-sales service. However, customers division in terms of risk aversion and effect of offering extended warranty on manufacturers’ basic warranty should be investigated through adjusting such services. Since risk-averse customers welcome extended warranty, while the customers without taking on risk may remain at the level of basic warranty. In this paper, a multi-objective integer nonlinear programming model is presented for integrating the supply chain of after-sales services. In the suggested model, firstly strategies used by the manufacturers in the basic warranty period and the third party’s policy during the extended warranty period, including the development of a new imperfect maintenance approach, are regulated. Then, the effects of these strategies on the desirability of customers with different levels of risk-taking are analyzed. To optimize the model, the scatter search based approach was introduced for extracting set of non-dominated solutions. The results indicated that increasing level of customers’ risk-taking convinces manufacturers to diminish the basic warranty period and the third party can apply less costly preventive maintenance. A location-allocation model in the multi-level supply chain with multi-objective evolutionary approach
In the current competitive conditions, all the manufacturers’ efforts are focused on increasing the customer satisfaction as well as reducing the production and delivery costs; thus, there is an increasing concentration on the structure and principles of supply chain (SC). Accordingly, the present research investigated simultaneous optimization of the total costs of a chain and customer satisfa...
full textA multi-objective evolutionary approach for integrated production-distribution planning problem in a supply chain network
Integrated production-distribution planning (PDP) is one of the most important approaches in supply chain networks. We consider a supply chain network (SCN) to consist of multi suppliers, plants, distribution centers (DCs), and retailers. A bi-objective mixed integer linear programming model for integrating production-distribution designed here aim to simultaneously minimize total net costs in ...
full textA Multi-Period Robust Optimization Model for Integrated Planning of Decisions in the Petrochemical Products’ Supply Chain
Optimal management and planning in the petrochemical industry will bring about many economic benefits, including depended industries. In this research we examine technical and operational planning in the petrochemical supply chain network to assess how to optimize periodic decisions such as inventory of raw materials and products, pricing, transportation and flow of materials and products. In...

full textSupply Chain Multi - Objective Simulation Optimization
A critical decision companies are faced with on a regular basis is the ordering of products and/or raw materials. Poor decisions can lead to excess inventories that are costly or to insufficient inventory that cannot meet its customer demands. These decisions may be as simple as “How much to order” or “How often to order” to more complex decision forecasting models. This paper addresses optimiz...
full textPresenting a Bi-objective Integrated Model for Production-Distribution Problem in a Multi-level Supply Chain Network
In this study, a bi-objective model for integrated planning of production-distribution in a multi-level supply chain network with multiple product types and multi time periods is presented. The supply chain network including manufacturers, distribution centers, retailers and final customers is proposed. The proposed model minimizes the total supply chain costs and transforming time of products ...
